Prepare the Way: John the Baptist Leads the Way

Pastor Raimon continues our Prepare the Way series by discussing the life of John The Baptist. We learn about both the prophetic birth and life of the one who would prepare the way for Jesus the Messiah. We travel through John's message of baptismal and repentance and learn of how John has the privilege of baptizing Jesus. We are challenged to a year of committed time towards building our relationship with Jesus in order to live into our true calling. Through our relationship we are lead into baptism of the Holy Spirit, aligned with God, separated from our sin, and set on a path to our true purpose.

Pastor Richard continues our Prepare the Way series by discussing Jesus' time at the temple as a boy. We learn that Jesus was not afraid to ask questions but embraced them, and spent time listening, learning, and seeking to understand as he gained wisdom that would lead to his ministry on earth. We're called to do the same: listen, learn, ask questions, and repeat.

 

Prepare the Way: Jesus is Presented at The Temple

Pastor Jessica opens up our new series Prepare the Way: Jesus' Early Years where we will explore the period of scripture between Jesus’ birth and the start of his ministry on earth. As we explore the beginning of Jesus’ life on earth and the preparations for his ministry, we will learn how to prepare ourselves as well, for a new year of ministry, of living in faith, and living into our calling as followers of Jesus. We begin by looking at Jesus' interaction with Old Testament law as well as the stories of Simeon and Anna. As we enter a new year, it is through developing our intimacy with God and communing with the Holy Spirit that we can truly find peace that endures.

 

Christmas Eve: Saying Yes to God

Pastor Jessica delivers our Christmas Eve message by diving into the story of Mary. By saying Yes! to the unconventional, to God's timing, and to God's love, we prepare ourselves to be changed by the tiny baby born into our world many years ago, Emmanuel, God With Us.

Bekki Fahrer talks about how Elizabeth’s story shows us that God is with us in celebration as well as we remember God’s love and it causes us to celebrate. Having a child during Elizabeth’s old age had to have been a painful and scary process. Despite this, Elizabeth chooses joy in knowing God had heard her prayers for a son, and chosen her and Zechariah to give birth to John, Jesus’ cousin, who would prepare the way for Jesus’ coming.

Most of us make plans for how we want our personal and professional lives to go. But when life doesn’t go according to plan, we can be thrown into confusion, frustration, and we often feel far from God. Joe Riffe discusses how God is with us in these confusing seasons of life.

Shepherds: God With Us In Rejection

Pastor Angela discusses how throughout Scripture God uses the lowly, the poor, the unlikely, the vulnerable, and the foreigner to do his good work. While society may shut these voices down, it’s God who takes the time to appear to them, comfort them, give them purpose, and call them loved.
